CATL is implementing one of Hungary’s largest industrial investments in Debrecen, in the Southern Industrial Park. The greenfield investment aims to create a state-of-the-art battery cell manufacturing plant, which will operate with an annual production capacity of 40 GWh in the initial phase and up to 100 GWh in full scale. The factory is scheduled to start series production in the first quarter of 2026, with an expected workforce of around 1,500. The facility will use modern, Industry 4.0 technologies, with a strong focus on energy efficiency and environmental sustainability.
